Project Overview

Stack: Flutter, Dart, MidJourney (visuals), ChatGPT (code/logic), CapCut/Canva (UI assets)
Timeline: 8 weeks (Spring–Summer 2025)
Background: No coding or graphic design experience; former software coordinator in Japan
Scope: Functional personal app, not designed for public release or app store distribution

Introduction: Building for Myself, With AI as My Team

Dream Home is a mood-driven room design app, crafted entirely through AI-powered workflows and designed for personal use.

As someone without coding or graphic design expertise, I acted as an orchestrator—directing AI (ChatGPT for code, MidJourney for visuals) to transform my ideas into a living app. This project is a testament to what’s possible when curiosity, intent, and collaboration with AI come together, even outside traditional engineering paths.

Objective:

To create a private, emotionally resonant digital space for myself—proving that AI-native building can make app creation accessible and deeply personal.

1. Motivation & Objective: From Coordinator to Builder

Having worked at a software company in Japan, I was familiar with the process of bringing apps to life—product specs, handoffs between teams, and managing the “big picture.” But I’d never touched the technical side. I had no experience writing code, drawing interfaces, or debugging.

Dream Home was my personal challenge:

Could I use only AI (no-code tools, no prior expertise) to create a real, working app?
Could I turn my experience in product coordination—writing specs, breaking down flows, collaborating with designers and coders—into a hands-on, end-to-end build process for myself?

Key limitations and intentions:

I wasn’t aiming to ship an app or reach users. I wanted something just for me—an emotionally meaningful tool, built with my own design.
I acknowledged from the outset that my result would have limits: no production-level QA, no user onboarding, no scalability.
